Rachel and Rigel Hunter design leather goods, furniture and lighting together in their Santa Cruz studio. Their combined experience in art, engineering, and industrial design include painting, sculpture, metal work, product design, furniture, and lighting design. When they began working with leather they immediately found a clean, refined style that pairs edgy industrial hardware with sleek refined lines. RREVV features products that push their work into a new space, reframing luxury and high-end fashion handbags and other leather accessories through the lens of their California aesthetic. Consummate innovators, they’re devoted not only to the end result, but to the artistry in the process.

With the RREVV line they have distilled their combined skills to focus on making the finest pieces that they can. They are absorbed by interesting materials and how they finish, fit together, or provide function. Combining fine handpicked leather with the sleek stainless steel hardware is infinitely satisfying, allowing the couple to create a gorgeous product that sparks delight.

They ran the RREVV Gallery on Pacific Avenue in Santa Cruz for a year from December 2021 to December 2022, featuring RREVV leather, Rachel’s bespoke lighting, Rigel’s metal sculpture and jewelry, and revolving guest artists.

Their work will be featured at New Museum Los Gatos (NUMU) from May 5 through September 3, 2023. "In the Artists’ Studio: Featuring Rrevv Studio" will introduce visitors to their work and dive into their shared creative process to develop and execute new works by following along with a piece of a unique wearable artwork as it goes from concept, to raw material, to a collectible object.
